2009 Challenge, Day 179: HIGH NOON

27 June, 2009 (18:00) | 2009challenge | By: jeremybrooks

Today is Sunday, June 28, 2009. Today’s theme for the 2009 Challenge is HIGH NOON.

Today’s challenge is about working with challenging light. It can be notoriously difficult to get a good shot at noon, since the sun is overhead and the light is generally harsh and not very flattering. For today’s shot, try to get out in the middle of the day when the lighting is bright. Maybe you can use the shadows to your advantage, or find a high contrast to capture. Let’s see what you can do!

Once you’re ready to submit your work to Flickr, you’ve got to do two important things. First, make sure you tag your photos correctly; “2009challenge″ and “2009challenge179“. Also, if you haven’t already, join the PhotoChallenge group on Flickr. Then, submit each day’s photo to the group’s pool.

Gonna be really cool to see what comes out of this one. I am soooooo bad at this type of shot that I want to pack away my gear and put it on eBay each time I see my results.

So far, the few Noon shots show what I feared however, that color is bad at this time no matter what and folks switch to B&W mode.

I am going to try a color shot if it kills me, and it probably will. It is almost noon.
