Today’s theme for the 2009 Challenge is SHALLOW DEPTH OF FIELD.

With this one you’re going to need to know how to use your aperture controls. Understanding aperture is also quite a bit important. If this is new, don’t be scared off! Head over to the Digital Photography School, for a wonderful post about aperture.

Now that you’re up to speed, get out there and shoot me some shallow depth of field! Focus on the lower aperture numbers, as low as your camera can go. Again, try to get this in camera, instead of creating it in Photoshop.

Once you’re ready to submit your work to Flickr, you’ve got to do two important things. First, make sure you tag your photos correctly; “2009challenge″. Also, if you haven’t already, join the PhotoChallenge group on Flickr. Then, submit each day’s photo to the group’s pool.
